Wistful dreams, broken promises
I’ve always felt a strong pull towards black & white photos as a medium. It simplifies the scene and draws your attention to what is truly important. This is Big Top Candy Shop on South Congress in Austin. An amazing little shoppe with all sorts of wondrous little treats, such as Double Bacon Chocolate Bar. Yummy! This, as you probably don’t know, is a big deal because I don’t eat candy. The only exception being Swedish Fish from time to time and the 3 or 4 times a year I come down to this candy shop for chocolate covered bacon and a soda fixed straight from a soda jerk like back in the day.
Fortunately and unfortunately this is the only decent picture from a roll of Kodak Tri-X I ran through my Minolta SRT-202. Apparently there is something quite wrong with it. All the photos turn out unevenly grainy and messed up. I wish I could replicate this photo over and over again, but it’s not worth the cost to get one good picture out of the roll.
